News Update
The proposed development of the site has not yet received full planning approval, but the Centre is being cleared out on the basis that work will go ahead this winter. The developers, Redcliffe Homes, are cheerfully optimistic.
In the mean time, the Centre is holding its Annual Winter Exhibition in Pewsey Library – this year the exhibition is of copies of historic material from its archive relating to Education in the Pewsey Vale area over the last 150 years. There are early photographs of school classes, and material relating to local day schools and Sunday Schools, and the inevitable ‘could do better’ report.
The current contents of the Centre are listed in the Centre catalogue, which can be viewed through the Wiltshire Treasures web site (http://www.wiltshiretreasures.org/) run by Wiltshire Council Museum Service. Even though the Centre is shut for the winter documents and material can still be accessed, and research help can be given
